  3. Hello and welcome to the Star Trek 24th Century Computer 
  4. Desktop Theme. The aim of this theme is  to mimic the computer 
  5. terminals seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation as much as 
  6. possible. I hope you enjoy it.

  8. Tip:  About the .bmp wallpaper included in this theme, use the wide
  9. areas to the left and right of the screen to put your desktop icons.
  10. use the area kind of like buttons on the screen.
  11.

  13. Installation Tips:
  14. ------------------------------------------------------------
  15. Place all files together in one folder, and then use Plus! 
  16. or some other Theme manager to install.
  17.  
  18. If by some quirk of fate you can't get it to install, here are
  19. some instructions on how to do it manually:  
  20.  
  21. Pointers:
  22. Go to the Control Panel folder and double-click on the
  23. mouse control panel.  Now click on the Pointers tab.  In turn
  24. select a pointer and choose Browse.  Locate the appropriate
  25. pointer in the directory in which you placed the files 
  26. extracted from the .zip file.  Once all pointers have been 
  27. changed, click Apply.
  28. Note: Use select.cur for Normal Select, Alt Select and 
  29. Handwriting.  Use tricorder.ani for Working in Background.

  31. Sounds:
  32. Once in the Control Panel folder double click on the Sounds
  33. control panel.  As with the pointers select a sound and then
  34. browse for the new file located in the directory of files for 
  35. this theme.  Once all sounds have been changed, click Apply.

  37. Icons and Wallpaper:
  38. Also in the Control Panel Folder is the Display control panel.
  39. This can also be accessed by right-clicking on the desktop and
  40. choosing Properties.  On the Background tab, select the 
  41. specs.bmp file from the theme folder.  On the Plus! tab, select
  42. the icon to be changed and browse for the new icon.  Do this 
  43. for each icon.  Make sure that Stretch Background to Fit is 
  44. selected then click Apply.
